Warner Robins will take the hits. Just not the runs. Or, at least the amount of runs equivalent to the hits.

To shed light on the mystery. The Demonettes finished with 15 hits. They scored eight runs as a result. In contrast, Perry had 14 hits. It, beating Warner Robins on the road Thursday, had 14 runs to show for it.
That laid to rest, it was really the six runs the Lady Panthers put on the board in the fifth and the four they added in the seventh that made the difference on the scoreboard.
Both started the game by scoring two in the first. Both also went scoreless in the second and put up one in the third.
Perry got out front briefly with one in the top of the fourth, but Warner Robins answered that with three in the bottom for a 6-4 lead.
That, as already mentioned, paved the way for the 10-spot the Lady Panthers put up over the course of the next three innings – the Demonettes’ final two coming in the sixth.
Emily Davis helped lead the Perry charge. She was 3-4 – all doubles – while driving in three and scoring three. Lauren Heath was 2-3 but she also earned a trio of RBIs while scoring three times. Terra Odom was also 3-4 with three runs scored.
For Warner Robins, Megan Brown was 3-4 – one of those a double – with an RBI and two scored and Ryla Christian was 4-5 – a triple part of that – with five driven in and one run scored.
The Lady Panthers improved to 3-5 with the win while the Demonettes fell to 2-8.
Elsewhere, Houston County swept Valdosta 44-1 in two games played at ABAC. The Lady Bears won the first 21-1 and the second 23-0. Both didn’t make it past three.
Houston County pounded out 16 hits in the first contest and 23 in the second, all the while ensuring 19 players had at least one at bat – in fact all 19 getting at least one hit in Game 2.
The Lady Wildcats managed only three hits in Game 1 and were held hitless in the nightcap.
Kenly Sullivan earned the most RBIs in Game 1 – 4 – while going 2-3. One of her hits was a triple. Madi Campbell also had a triple while going 1-3 and Grace Hardee (1-1 with a walk) had a double as did Averi Martin (1-1 with two RBIs).
Taylor Peebles and Jamie Benda each finished 3-3 to help lead in Game 2. Peebles drove in two as did Benda. Peebles also scored twice whereas Benda made it home three times.
Houston County improved to 7-2 with the wins while Valdosta fell to 0-7.
