Schley pulls away from Perry

Perry kept pace early but slipped down the stretch. As a result, it fell to Schley County 11-6 Wednesday at home.

The Lady Wildcats started things off with a six-run first. The Lady Panthers answered with three in the bottom half of the inning, then kept the visitor off the scoreboard in the second while scoring two more.

Both then went scoreless in the third before Schley began to pull away. It plated three in the fourth, one in the fifth and one in the seventh. Perry added its final run in the sixth.

Hits were even at 10 apiece. Six of the Lady Panthers’ came at the top of the lineup in Terra Odom and Annie Chance. The first went 3-4 with two runs scored, the second 3-3 – one of those a homerun – with an RBI and two scored.

Also, Lauren Heath went 2-3 with a homerun and drove in three.

Chance worked an inning and gave up just two hits. However, she also walked four while giving up those six aforementioned runs.

Allison Peavy went the rest of the way. She struck out three and walked two.

The Lady Wildcats improved to 8-4 with the non-region win, while Perry suffered its third-straight loss and fell to 5-8.
