Warner Robins hosted two from the county Thursday night and won both.

“My girls were 100 percent focused against Houston County,” said Demonettes Head Coach Cassie Bennett. Her squad beat the Lady Bears 25-18, 25-17. “I don’t know that there was a single player with an off game against them last night,” she said. “They were like, as my high school basketball coach used to say, ‘a well-oiled machine’.”
Kayla Luke, she added, “definitely stepped it up last night against HoCo and Perry, making some well timed and crucial plays.”

Bennett continued that the squad came out a little “unfocused” against Perry in the first set – as a result they lost 25-17. However, she said, “they rallied back and pulled out a win” – winning the second 26-24 and third 25-20. “I am definitely proud of all of my girls because it took the ‘entire’ team last night.”
The aforementioned Luke finished with an ace and nine kills. Also, Parker Hogan had 11 aces and five kills and a block and Anna Slaughter six aces, six kills and a block.
Hannah Spalding had six aces and four kills, Hanna Luke six aces and three kills, Kayla Moore six kills and Shakira Daniel five kills and two blocks.
Also, Perry fell to Houston County 2-0.
“We struggled to get into the flow of the game and beat ourselves with mistakes,” said Head Coach Terri Hunt. “Part of our inconsistent play.”
As far as the Demonettes, “(We) just can’t quite get over the hump with them,” she said. “(We have taken them to three the last two times we have played.”
On the night, Chloe Marshall helped lead the squad with her six aces. Also, Leah Spears had five kills and Rachel Dowd four.
A “shout out” to Lative Ray, Hunt said, for three kills, adding pressure at the net and good serves.
