Warner Robins, Veterans sweep opponents

It took a shootout, but Warner Robins’ boys earned their first win of the year Thursday. The Demons edged out Bainbridge, 6-5, at home.

The Bearcats jumped out to a 3-1 halftime lead, but Warner Robins tied it in the second half with a pair of goals and then won it with a 3-2 advantage. It improved to 1-2 as a result.

The girls had no such need, as they rolled to a 10-0 win. They scored six in the first half and four in thee second, improving to 3-1 in the process.

Elsewhere, Veterans’ boys posted their second-straight shutout. The Warhawks beat Houston County 6-0 on Feb. 10 and Spalding 4-0 Thursday. They improved to 3-1.

The girls on the other hand remained undefeated, after they beat the Lady Jaguars 2-0. They are 4-0, having given up only two goals during that stretch.
