Brent Hamm won low medalist at the AAAAAA Golf Tournament held at the Jekyll Island Golf Club – Pine Lakes Golf Course. Hamm fired a +2, 74 and led the Houston County Bears team to a runner up finish which also qualified them for the GHSA Class AAAAAA State Tournament scheduled for May 21-22 at the same course.
Although the Houston County girls did not advance as a team, Ansley Garland shot a 99 which was one of the two lowest scores from a team that did not qualify for the state tournament. Garland will also advance to the state tournament as an individual.
This is the second consecutive year the Bears’ varsity boys team has advanced to state.
