GHSA baseball playoff games set for local teams

Veterans, Houston County and Perry will continue their baseball seasons starting Thursday in round one of the GHSA state baseball tournament – a best of three, series.

Veterans is the lone one seed in the group, finishing first in Region 1-AAAAA.  The Warhawks (23-7, 11-1) will face off against the number four seed from region 2-AAAAA, Statesboro (6-23, 5-7).   You can check out the Warhawks and Blue Devils in action starting at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Veterans High School, with an “if needed” game scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m. (Broadcast available on the Sportmic App, Vets channel).

By virtue of a second place finish in Region 1-AAAAAA, Houston County (23-7, 9-3) earned a home playoff game against three seeded Brunswick (17-13,6-6). Doubleheader action starts Thursday at the Bears’ Den  at 4:30 p.m., with the “if needed” game scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m.  Live broadcast will be available on the Sportsmic App, HOCO Channel.

The number three seeded Perry Panthers (17-12, 8-7) of Region 2-AAAA will be on the road at Columbus High School (22-5,13-2) on Thursday.  The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. The start time of Friday’s  “if needed” game and the broadcast schedule for Perry’s series is not currently known.  Please check back here for updates.
