OK, Annie Chance. You hit a walk-off homerun to lift Perry to a win over previously unbeaten Region 2-AAAA opponent West Laurens. Now what?

Well, it isn’t: “go to Disneyland,” but the Lady Panthers aren’t complaining. The sophomore Lady Panther simply hit another homerun and had two singles while leading Perry to a 16-5 win in five innings over Fullington, Monday at home.
Chance drove in five in all and in fact she wasn’t the only one to hit a long ball – or to hit for extra bases. Lauren Heath also put one over the fence while going 2-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Billie Simmons had a triple. It was her only hit in two plate appearances, but it was good enough for two RBIs. Also, L.T. Reynolds had a double while going 3-3 with two runs scored.
In all, Perry pounded out 16 hits. Even though Fullington was able to put two runs on the board in the first and three in the second, it only had two. Walks had some effect on that, as Emma Pruitt gave up six. She worked two innings, gave up one of the hits – a long ball – and also struck out two.
Charisma Winkler worked the final three innings. She gave up the other hit, didn’t strike out a batter, but didn’t walk one, either.
The Lady Panthers’ runs came in the first-fourth, two, five, two and seven, respectively. They improved to 10-10 – their third-straight win.

Elsewhere, Dodge County broke open an 8-all tie with five in the eighth to get past Veterans Monday at the home of the Lady Warhawks.
The visitor scored one in the first. Veterans answered it with a pair. Both then went scoreless for three innings before the Lady Indians put six on the scoreboard in the fifth. The Lady Warhawks only managed one in the bottom of the inning but managed to tie it with five in the sixth – Dodge County also scoring one that inning.
The Lady Indians out-hit Veterans 16-12 – with seven errors among them (four for the home squad).
Three of Veterans’ RBIs came via the bat of Skyler Welford. She was 2-4 with a run scored. Also, Jenna Thomas was 2-5 with an RBI and two scored. Kyndall Foster was 2-5 with two driven and Trinity Thiel was 2-5 and T.J. Thiel 2-3 with a walk.
The Lady Warhawks still stayed above .500, 9-8, while Dodge County (11-0 in its region) improved to 15-5.
