HoCo powers past WR

Warner Robins got off to a good start. That much is sure. It got off to a good start against Northside the day prior (Monday) – four runs in the first and second en route to a 12-6 win.

It got off to a good start again against Houston County on Tuesday with a run in the first.

Good starts are one thing. Great starts are another, as they say. The Lady Bears accomplished the latter. They got off to a 19-run second inning and went on to beat the Demonettes 19-2 in three innings.

A double play erased an error and helped the Demonettes shut down Houston County in the first. However, three singles and a walk – a flyout in between – got it rolling in the second. By the time the dust had cleared, the Lady Bears had gone through the order twice – and then some – and had put 10 hits in the books. Another error didn’t help, nor did nine walks – between three pitchers.

Lauren Ross helped lead the offensive effort with a 3-3 effort. She drove in two and scored twice. Hanna Otto was also 2-2 with a walk and three runs driven in.

Ryla Christian, who went 2-2 and walked twice – one of those a double – against the Lady Eagles, went 2-2 to pace Warner Robins. Her first was a double in the first that accounted for one RBI and the second was a homerun in the third for another.

Rylee Lamb got the win. She went three innings, gave up the Demonettes four hits while walking one. She also struck out six.
